And then we'll play professional photographer...

Neulamäki Youth Center, Rytö, 15.10.2010. Entry through the back door and straight to the kitchen to find out how everything works. The feeling is rather interesting, as the place is completely unknown to me but still I'm part of the staff. Oh, whatever. :D

I get an order to take pics of everything.

When the system is basically clear, it's time for random hanging around, getting the coffee machine ready and "Hey, here's your ticket to get some food, and here are our kitchen girls" -round. Bit by bit coffee-thirsty musicians, sound techs and other more or less important people start entering the kitchen. While feeding the others, one is also allowed to feed herself.

Having taken care of the kitchen duties

-Would you take a few kittens?
-No, no, not by any means!!
-Not even for nailing them on the wall?

-Have you ever been to Vesanto?
-Can't remember I would have.
-We're civilized there, we also have forks and knives.
-So do we in Lapinlahti!
-There's a dairy in Lapinlahti. I've been there.

I'm allowed to watch and especially photograph the gig. The audience is a bit quiet during the first band. The second creates some movement among them and the third really gets the crowd going. I'm having great time and even headbanging enough to get a hurting neck for a few following days. 8D

New positions right in front of, and on the side of the stage give me a bunch of new angles and other interesting possibilities.

The lights at this sort of smaller events are often a bit challenging, but I must say that I've seen worse.

The only disappointment of the evening is that Verjnuarmu doesn't give an encore despite fierce applause.

Even cleaning is nice when one can take posters and setlists home. In general the whole night as a kitchen girl has been so nice that I'll retake it if possible.

-Could the girls help you somehow?
-Look at us their jaws dropped.

Over! Gone! Förbi!

Now I've managed to get through the matriculation exams. :D The next thing to worry about are the results, but I'm not going to think them until a bit before Christmas. Also normal exam week will begin tomorrow, but somehow I don't see it as a big thing. :P

Nice stuff coming up in October:

- Verjnuarmu at Rytö, supports will be Raven Claw (omnomnomnomnom) and Human Disposal Waste Unit
At the moment it seems that I'll be working there. 8D

- Verjnuarmu at Kulttuuriareena 44

I'll hopefully and propably be taking photographs of both events.
One very interesting fact is that Nuarmu's next album "Lohuton" will be out before the gig at 44, so there might be a chance to hear new stuff live. :3 One new song, "Kuvajaenen" has already been heard and also released as a digital single. If you haven't heard it, now hurry up and get yourself to YouTube!

Talking about photographs, I finally got the foggy morning that I wanted. To be more precise, I got it on a day-off. For the whole August I looked the beautiful mornings outside the kitchen window and cursed school. Then, all weekends were so rainy that there was absolutely no hope of having that nice fog around. But matriculation exams, despite trying to eat my whole life, provided me with a chance to stay at home, reading. And there my foggy day was. :D
The pics didn't turn out that good but some of them are at least decent.

Nomming

I'm being bad. I'm here instead of studying for the matriculation exams.

I got Apocalyptica's 7th Symphony in my hands today. The album actually came out already in last month but because of the disappointment caused by the single song, I wasn't in a hurry of buying it.

However, the CD arrived today and after small difficulties (greetings to Mr. Gates) I had the chance to take a closer look at its contents. The first song sounded interesting and it gave me back some hope I had lost. As the songs just kept getting better towadrs the end I was pretty happy with the album.

One of my predictions was true: the instrumentals are better than the songs with vocals. Ecxept
Bring Them To Light. While writing this I'm listening to it for the fifth time. :D

Now I'll continue the listening...

Return and revenge of the Box

It's ready. :D Hopefully I'll be making also other updates than just a new layout. Though that will not happen during the couple of next weeks, because of matriculation exams. Mine will be over on 22. day, so before that I'm pretty much occupied.

Until we meet again.

Oh mighty renovation

I'm making a whole new layout for this blog so for a while it might look a bit funny. X)

Quite a lot of stuff has happened again. :D
A couple of weeks ago I travelled to Rauma with our choir. We gave the same charity concert that was held here last year. I really enjoyed the trip and even the weather was on our side.

One thing that irritated me a little was the fact that I was having a stomach flu on our way back, so sitting many hours in the bus wasn't the most pleasant thing to do. Then another thing that irritated me a bit more was that I missed a Stam1na gig because of the trip. They would have come to a place quite near to me, but I wasn't here so...
In the pic there are 4/6 members of our group. Some time ago we even came up with a name for us (it took no longer than 9 years). Nowdays we're called Aranea. :D The name was found from a latin words list and it means spider's web.

Last weekend it was time for bit more sad stuff. An old horse that belonged to the family of one of my friends was put to sleep on Friday. Jaavan Tähtö, "Jämä", was a real personality and still a couple of years ago it took part in western riding competitions. Thank you for all Jämä!

Exam week begun yesterday. Two exams are done, five more to go.

But today's most interesting thing happened already in the morning. The weather forecast had said it'd not rain today so I decided to go to school by scooter. Well, of course after a nice, long, straight part of the road there's a police car waiting for me. At that point I just thought "oh crap" because I knew that my scooter goes a bit more than it's allowed to. But I have nothing to do with it. Really.

Like I thought, it was about that. I was told to come inside the car while the other police drove the scooter back to the straight road. The radar told the speed was 60 km/h (the highest speed allowed for that type of vechile is 45km/h) and I got a fine of €20. The positive thing was that the speed didn't exceed 65 km/h when I'd have lost my licence. X) Though the policemen said that they had measured a rather high speed when I was driving, because I weight less. But maybe they just were the forgiving type.

I think I need to get a vechile I can legally drive a bit faster...

One more thing I have to say is that the picture uploading system of Blogger has changed since my last visit and the new one seems to be just plain stupid. The pics are mega big size, so only part of them can be seen....

Oh yeah. I made a kind of sequel for Finnrölli., though it works the other way round. The song is Finntroll's Segersång. :D

And this time the vid can be found on the Finnish side. :P
